Capalo AI and Prosperus Asset Management Partner on 75MW/150MWh Battery Storage Portfolio in Lithuania
Helsinki, 18.12.2025 – Capalo AI, a sustainable technology company specializing in AI-driven optimization and trading services for battery energy storage systems (BESS) and hybrid parks, has signed an agreement with an investment company managed by Prosperus Asset Management, one of Lithuania’s largest real estate investment fund managers, to optimize and trade two battery energy storage projects in Lithuania.
The agreement covers a combined 75MW / 150MWh of storage capacity across two sites, planned to go live in Q4 2026. The Rokiškis project will deliver 45MW / 90 MWh of battery storage, while the Telšiai project will add a further 30MW / 60 MWh to the Lithuanian power system. Together, the assets represent a significant addition to the country’s rapidly expanding energy storage capacity, marking Prosperus Asset Management’s entry into large-scale battery storage as part of its long-term investment strategy.
Once operational, both assets will be integrated into Capalo Zeus VPP™, enabling participation across all Lithuanian ancillary and wholesale electricity markets, including FCR, aFRR, mFRR, Spot, and Intraday. Capalo AI will provide end-to-end services, including route-to-market access, balance responsible party (BRP) and Balance Service Provider (BSP) services, and fully automated AI-driven optimization to maximize asset revenues and lifetime value.
Capalo Zeus VPP leverages real-time data analytics and adaptive algorithms to ensure batteries respond efficiently to market signals while delivering critical flexibility and balancing capacity to the Lithuanian power system.
“Energy storage is a natural extension of our investment strategy, offering long-term, infrastructure-backed returns while supporting the stability of the power system. Partnering with Capalo AI gives us access to proven optimization expertise and market access, ensuring that the Rokiškis and Telšiai projects perform efficiently and deliver strong returns,” said Gediminas Baltakis, Managing Director of Prosperus Asset Management.
“These projects demonstrate how large-scale energy storage can complement traditional real estate investment portfolios while delivering tangible value to the power system. By integrating the Rokiškis and Telšiai assets into our Zeus VPP platform, we ensure they operate efficiently across all markets and contribute meaningfully to Lithuania’s energy transition,” said Henri Taskinen, CEO of Capalo AI.
