Location: Poland (Remote)
Capalo AI is scaling fast across Europe and Poland is our next major growth market.
We’re looking for a Country Manager (Poland) to build and lead our presence in one of Europe’s most dynamic energy storage markets. This is not a maintenance role. This is a build-from-zero, high-impact leadership opportunity.
About Capalo AI
Capalo AI is a fast-growing energy technology company accelerating the green energy transition through advanced software.
Our AI-powered platform, Capalo Zeus VPP™, actively optimizes large-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) across multiple energy markets – including FCR, aFRR, mFRR, Spot and Intraday, maximizing revenue through real-time, multi-market trading.
We currently trade & optimize 300+ MW of BESS capacity, with over 1 GW contracted, and are expanding from our Nordic core into Central and Eastern Europe.
Your Mission
Establish Capalo AI as the leading BESS and hybrid park optimizer in Poland.
You will:
- Build the local client base
- Develop strategic partnerships
- Position Capalo Zeus VPP™ as the go-to optimization platform
- Act as the bridge between Polish market realities and our Finnish tech & trading teams
You will be the face of Capalo AI in Poland.
What You’ll Do
Market Development & Client Acquisition
- Identify and engage renewable developers, utilities, IPPs, EPCs, infrastructure funds, and storage investors
- Educate the market on AI-driven BESS optimization and revenue stacking
- Structure, negotiate, and close long-term optimization agreements
- Develop a clear go-to-market strategy tailored to Polish market dynamics
Lead & Opportunity Management
- Manage inbound leads and represent Capalo AI in Poland
- Run commercial discussions from first contact to signed agreement
- Present revenue simulations and bankable performance cases
- Build and maintain a strong commercial pipeline
Strategic Market Leadership
- Track regulatory developments and market trends (TSO requirements, ancillary markets, capacity market)
- Provide structured feedback to our leadership team
- Contribute to Capalo’s CEE expansion strategy
What We’re Looking For
- Deep understanding of the Polish electricity market
- Strong knowledge of ancillary services and capacity mechanisms
- Proven track record in B2B sales or business development within energy, renewables, or energy tech
- Experience negotiating complex commercial agreements
- Entrepreneurial mindset- comfortable building something from scratch
- Native-level fluency in Polish and strong professional communication skills in English.

Optimization Engineer - Revenue Split Team

We operate the full stack, from market prequalification and automated trading to real-time dispatch and regulatory compliance.
Now we’re strengthening and automating the next critical layer: a rigorous revenue allocation engine for our virtual power plant
Role Mission
Design and implement the mathematical framework that determines how aggregated market revenues are allocated back to individual battery assets in our fleet.
This is a quantitative systems problem – not reporting, not analytics, not dashboards.
When hundreds of batteries are optimized as one portfolio, their individual contributions are not directly observable. Yet revenues must be allocated in a way that is:
- Economically fair
- Mathematically defensible
- Robust to edge cases
- Transparent to asset owners
- Production-grade
Your job is to formalize that logic and ship it.
What you’ll do
Design allocation methodologies
- Develop revenue-sharing mechanisms for heterogeneous battery portfolios
- Account for asset constraints, degradation, market rules, and temporal coupling
- Formalize contribution logic under portfolio-level optimization
Build production-grade optimization logic
- Implement high-performance Python modules
- Handle large-scale time-series market data
- Write testable, well-documented, reviewable code
- Ensure numerical correctness and edge-case robustness
Validate and stress-test
- Simulate volatile price environments
- Evaluate fairness metrics and sensitivity
- Adapt models as market rules evolve
Integrate with core systems
- Deliver API-ready outputs used by Finance and customer-facing products
- Maintain documentation to ensure auditability and transparency
What we’re looking for
Must-haves
- Strong background in applied mathematics, optimization, operations research, quantitative economics, or similar
- Advanced Python (NumPy, pandas; experience with SciPy, CVXPy or similar tools is a plus)
- Experience building production-quality systems (testing, version control, CI/CD)
- Ability to structure open-ended quantitative problems independently
- Clear communication skills in English – able to explain mathematical reasoning to non-specialists

Data Engineer

As a certified Balance Responsible Party (BRP), we operate the full stack, from market prequalification and automated trading to real-time dispatch and regulatory compliance.
ROLE MISSION
As a Data Engineer, you’ll own the data infrastructure that powers our AI models, trading systems, and customer-facing products. This is a production-critical role: when electricity markets are live, our data pipelines must be reliable, observable, and scalable.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Build and own production data pipelines for time-series energy market data, battery telemetry, weather feeds, and trading signals
- Handle incremental loads, historical backfills, and data quality validation
- Design and maintain data APIs for real-time and historical data (versioning, authentication, pagination, SLAs)
- Design data models for analytical and operational workloads across AWS (Glue, Athena, Timestream, Lambda)
- Implement monitoring, dashboards, and alerts using Grafana and AWS CloudWatch
- Own data reliability: runbooks, data quality checks, incident response, and resilience improvements
- Collaborate with ML, backend, and product teams on data requirements and schema design
- Write clean, tested code; participate in reviews; document and own systems in production
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Must-haves
- Strong Git, Python and SQL; experience building production ETL/ELT pipelines
- Hands-on AWS data stack experience (Glue, Athena, Lambda, Timestream or similar)
- Experience operating production data pipelines with backfills and failure recovery
