About Capalo AI
At Capalo AI, we are accelerating the green energy transition by maximizing the value of large-scale energy storage systems through artificial intelligence and optimization. Our platform, Capalo Zeus VPP™, operates battery energy storage systems as a virtual power plant, helping asset owners generate higher revenues while supporting a more resilient and sustainable energy grid.
The Role
We are looking for a driven, sales-oriented person to help us introduce Capalo AI and Capalo Zeus VPP™ to new customers in Poland. In this role, you will proactively build relationships, learn what matters to each prospective customer, and use data-driven strategies to help them understand how our technology can support their business.
You will guide customers throughout the commercial journey from the first conversation to a signed agreement while helping Capalo AI build a strong and trusted presence in the Polish market.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify promising business opportunities and potential customers in Poland.
- Proactively generate new business through cold calling, direct outreach and confident pitching, building genuine, long-term customer relationships along the way.
- Learn about each customer’s business, priorities and challenges.
- Explain how Capalo Zeus VPP™ can create value based on the customer’s specific needs.
- Guide customers through the sales process, from the first conversation to commercial discussions, negotiation and contract execution.
- Respond to inbound enquiries and help prospective customers find the information and solutions they need.
- Maintain accurate customer and pipeline information in the CRM and keep the wider team informed about progress.
- Build your knowledge of Capalo Zeus VPP™, energy markets and industry developments so you can advise customers with confidence.
What We’re Looking For
Must-haves
- A sales-first mindset and confidence managing customer conversations and commercial negotiations from beginning to end.
- 1–3 years of experience developing new business and building customer relationships in a B2B environment.
- The ability to understand customer needs and translate them into relevant commercial solutions.
- A structured and reliable approach to following up with customers and managing a sales pipeline.
- Tech-savvy and at ease with modern software, cloud tools and AI.
- Willingness to travel. The role involves attending energy events across Poland and occasionally visiting our office in Helsinki, Finland.
- Fluency in Polish and English.
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge of or connections within energy markets, battery storage, renewable energy or virtual power plants, particularly in Poland.
- Experience working with software, SaaS or other technical solutions.
- A genuine interest in startups and technology.

Once a deal closes, you turn it into a live, optimizing asset. That means coordinating with grid operators, project-managing across engineering and commercial and hitting a launch date. Project management chops with technical fluency.

You build the algorithms that decide what every battery does, every minute. Forecasting, bidding, Optimization under uncertainty. Math-heavy, Deeply researchy, with daily real-world feedback in P&L. Strong fits include applied math, OR, ML, and quant trading backgrounds.
Engineering — Production — The platform that doesn’t stop
You make sure the system keeps running when electricity markets don’t wait. Backend systems, infrastructure, observability, and shipping into new markets without breaking the ones that already work.
Staff Engineering — Technical leadership across the platform
You set technical direction across teams, raise the bar on architecture and design and mentor engineers. Hands-on, opinionated, and Trusted to make calls that compound for years.
Product — What we build, why and in what order
You translate market complexity, customer questions, and engineering reality into a roadmap. Heavy Collaboration with Optimization, Production, and the trading desk. Energy or fintech product backgrounds are a strong plus.

How We Work
- Where: HQ in Helsinki, with team members across Finland, Sweden, Latvia, and Lithuania.
- Working language: English. All meetings, documentation and code reviews run in English.
- Hybrid: Most teams are in-office around three days a week. Specifics vary by team and role.
- Compensation: Competitive base salary plus Meaningful equity. We share specifics transparently with candidates in the process.
- Interview process: Typically 4 -5 discussions over 2–3 weeks, including a role-specific deep-dive and assignment. We’ll lay out the full process before you start.
