Capalo AI to Optimize and Trade Vindr’s First Hybrid Solar and Storage Asset in Latvia
Helsinki, 22.4.2026 – Capalo AI, is an independent energy storage optimiser providing AI-driven optimisation, trading and route-to-market services for stand-alone and co-located BESS, has signed an agreement with Vindr Līvāni SIA, part of the Norwegian renewable energy group Vindr, to optimize and trade the Līvāni Energy Park, a hybrid solar and battery energy storage project in Latvia.
The agreement covers the Līvāni Energy Park, located in Rožupes parish. The site combines a 4.3 MWp solar PV installation with a 3.2 MW / 7.52 MWh battery energy storage system. The project represents Vindr’s first operating asset in Latvia and its first live hybrid project in the Baltic region, serving as an important milestone in the company’s market entry and long-term development plans.
The solar PV asset is already operational, with the battery system scheduled for commissioning in Q2 2026. Following full commissioning, the hybrid park will begin participating in Latvian balancing and wholesale electricity markets, including FCR, aFRR, mFRR, as well as spot and intraday markets, through Capalo AI’s fully automated, AI-driven optimization platform.
Capalo AI will deliver end-to-end optimization services for the asset, including route-to-market access, Balance Responsible Party (BRP) and Balance Service Provider (BSP) services, as well as coordinated optimization of the solar and battery systems behind a single point of interconnection. By managing generation and storage as a unified asset, the platform enables dynamic response to market conditions while supporting efficient operation and value creation.
The project marks an important step in Vindr’s expansion in Latvia, forming the first operational asset within its planned 1 GW portfolio in the country. It also contributes to Latvia’s broader energy transition by increasing local renewable generation capacity and enhancing grid flexibility through integrated storage.
“Līvāni Energy Park is a significant milestone for Vindr in Latvia. It is our first operating asset in the country and an important step toward becoming an independent power producer in this market. At the same time, it serves as a practical learning platform for our team, helping us strengthen our capabilities in developing, operating and trading renewable energy assets as we work toward our long-term goal of building a 1 GW portfolio in Latvia” said Baiba Zauere, Head of Vindr Latvia.
“Hybrid assets like Vindr’s Līvāni Energy Park highlight the growing importance of coordinated optimization across generation and storage. Capalo AI’s platform enables these assets to be optimized and traded as a single flexible unit, supporting system stability while maximizing returns over time,” said Henri Taskinen, CEO of Capalo AI.
